HW

Good morning,

Happy holidays!!!  I am so proud of the work we have done so far this year.  Just so you know, the assignments and classwork will get more challenging.  Get ready.

Remember what the king said at his most victorious and most sorrowful moments: this too will pass.

If you see a dip in your grade -- do not become frustrated!  Keep in mind, if you are not here - you get a 0 for the day.  Try to be here every day.  You are also being graded for punctuality, behavior and career maturity.

I know we will all make the third marking period the best yet.

Your homework for tonight:

Option one:
1. What was Tom Robinson's verdict?

2.  Why do you think Tom Robinson received this verdict?

3.  Do you think Tom Robinson would be found guilty or innocent today?

Option two:
In a well-developed paragraph, answer the following question.  One of the themes of To Kill a Mockingbird is that people can be good and evil.  People are complicated!  Give three examples of this idea in the text.  (Hint: Ms. Dubose)

Enjoy your holidays.  Show love to your families and friends. Do your homework.  Take care of yourselves.  You are very precious.
PARENTS/ GUARDIANS: If you have any questions or comments please feel free to comment on the bottom of this page. I will reply as soon as possible. I look forward to your comments

See you next year,

HW

Hello,

Just a friendly reminder:

Even if you have an appointment, you are graded for your efforts.  If you are not here, I cannot give you credit.  I know that extenuating circumstances arise (look it up if you need to) -- and those will be taken with the proverbial grain of salt.  However, for those of you continually making appointments for during school hours ----- please stop.  This is practice.  Making appointments for during work (or school) hours is unacceptable.  At most places of employment, it will get you fired.  At school, your grade will suffer and so will your understanding of the content.

One more thing...

Don't gossip.  Don't talk about each other behind closed doors or turned backs.  Speak directly to each other and speak with kindness.  We are here to lift each other up - not tear down.

Your homework for tonight:

Option one:
1. Why is school important?

2.  What other story did we read that was set in the Great Depression?

Option two:
In a well-developed paragraph, answer the following question.  Why should you care about your education?

PARENTS/ GUARDIANS: If you have any questions or comments please feel free to comment on the bottom of this page. I will reply as soon as possible. I look forward to your comments.

I'll see you tomorrow,
Ms. Betsy
