1. I do not tell lies.  Mother used to say this was because I was a good person.  But it is not because I am a good person.  It is because I cannot tell lies.

1.     Why does Christopher’s mother think that Christopher is a good person?

2.     Based on the above quotations, how does Christopher’s dad feel about Christopher finding Wellington’s murderer?

3. When he came back, he sat in the kitchen staring out of the back window.  “I’m afraid you won’t be seeing your mother for a while.” He didn’t look at me when he said this.  He kept looking out of the window.
